That was certainly my perception. I wasn’t an AI expert. I didn’t know how machine learning worked. I couldn’t write code, and I definitely wasn’t following the latest research papers coming out of Silicon Valley.

But I was curious. Like many people, I kept hearing about AI everywhere. It was in the news, on social media, and increasingly in workplace conversations. At first, I assumed it wasn’t really relevant to my day-to-day work. Then one day, I decided to try it.That simple decision changed the way I work.

Starting Small

My first experience with AI wasn’t anything revolutionary. I wasn’t building apps or automating entire workflows. I simply needed help writing. I asked an AI tool to help me draft an email that I was struggling to word. The result wasn’t perfect, but it gave me a starting point. Instead of staring at a blank screen, I had something I could edit and improve. That saved me time. More importantly, it helped me realise that AI didn’t need to replace my work. It could support it.

From Experiment to Everyday Tool

After that first success, I started looking for other ways AI could help. I used it to:

•Summarise long documents

•Brainstorm ideas for projects

•Create meeting agendas

•Draft reports and emails

•Improve wording and clarity in communications

•Generate first drafts for presentations

The more I used it, the more I discovered that AI was less about having expert knowledge and more about asking better questions. That’s when things started to click.

The Biggest Myth About AI

One of the biggest misconceptions I had was that you needed technical expertise to get value from AI. In reality, most people can benefit from AI with little or no technical background. You don’t need to understand the algorithms. You don’t need to know how neural networks work. You don’t need to learn programming. You just need a problem you’re trying to solve. Whether that’s finding ideas, improving productivity, organising information, or reducing repetitive tasks, AI can help.

What AI Has Really Given Me

The biggest benefit hasn’t been saving time, although that’s certainly part of it. It’s given me confidence. Confidence to start projects faster. Confidence to explore new ideas. Confidence to tackle tasks that previously felt overwhelming. AI hasn’t replaced my thinking. It has amplified it.The best results still come from human judgement, experience, and creativity. AI simply helps me get there faster.

Why I’m Starting This Website

This blog exists because I know there are many people exactly where I was not long ago. Interested in AI. Curious about how it can help. A little overwhelmed by the hype. Unsure where to start. Through this website, I want to share practical examples of how everyday people can use AI in their jobs and personal projects. No technical jargon. No complicated theory. Just real-world experiences, lessons learned, and ideas that anyone can try. If you’re just getting started, you’re in the right place. Because I wasn’t an expert when I started. And honestly, I’m still learning every day.

What’s Next?

In future posts, I’ll share:

•The AI tools I use most often

•Real examples of how I use AI at work

•Lessons from mistakes I’ve made

•Tips for writing better prompts

•Simple ways to save time and be more productive

If you’re beginning your own AI journey, I hope these articles help you get started a little faster than I did.The future of work is changing, and you don’t need to be an expert to be part of it. You just need to start.

My journey from curiosity to confidence, and why you don’t need to be a tech wizard to get started.
